Nematodes against white worms
Nematodes against white worms
Got a grub infestation and don't want to use chemical pesticides? Why not call on Mother Nature? Nematodes are small, microscopic worms that are beneficial. They need to be mixed with water to wake them up and then sprayed on the lawn. Once on the ground, they will seek out a host, usually worms. Nematodes carry a pathogen with them that they inject into the host worms. This will multiply and kill the worms within a day or two. The nematodes will then lay their eggs on the dead worms. New nematodes will hatch and go looking for more worms. Mother Nature to the rescue !

FAQ
When to treat white worms?
Here are two important things to know about treating white grubs with nematodes:
1— They can be treated from April to mid-June, or at the end of the season, in August and September. If we want to eliminate them, we use nematodes at the beginning of the season. At the end of the season, we can use nematodes as a preventative measure to ensure that they will be eliminated if they were ever in the soil. At the end of the season, the only reason to use nematodes is to ensure that we do not have white grubs next year when the snow melts.
2— Never use nematodes in sunny weather. Ultraviolet rays can damage them, which will reduce the effectiveness of the treatment. We always recommend carrying out the treatment on a cloudy day. Also, never tear the bag containing the nematodes.
